Bahrain: Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, including an attempt to target Makkah with a UAV on Tuesday evening. The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted the UAV.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. It also condemned the attack as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of the Grand Mosque and the holy sites.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability and protect its citizens and residents, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. It stressed that Saudi Arabia's security and stability are an integral part of Bahrain's national security.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's call for the UN Security Council to uphold its responsibilities and take a firm stance to stop the repeated terrorist attacks targeting civilian and religious sites and terrorizing civilians in Saudi Arabia. It also called for those responsible to be held accountable, saying this would contribute to safeguarding regional and international security and stability and protecting holy sites.
