Bahrain condemns storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, reaffirms its respect for Jordan’s role in protecting holy sites

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned and denounced the Israeli Minister of National Security’s storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli police, as a serious violation of international law and a provocation of Muslim sentiments.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm position to respect Jordan’s role in caretaking for holy sites and endowments under international law and the existing historical situation, and to stop repeated provocative practices and racist statements that threaten to increase tension and hatred and undermine international efforts to drive the just and comprehensive peace process, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, the principles of international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
