Bahrain Condemns Iranian Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the Iranian attack targeting the Saudi oil tanker SIDR while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, an incident that resulted in fatalities among the tanker's crew.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Bahrain asserted that the attack poses a threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and the free movement of commercial vessels. The attack was described as a violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2817, along with International Maritime Organization resolutions.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to ensure its security and protect its citizens and interests. The ministry emphasized the deep-rooted ties between the leaderships and peoples of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, highlighting that Saudi Arabia's security and stability are linked to Bahrain's national security.
