General

Islamabad: Guests of Allah departing from Islamabad International Airport under the Makkah Road Initiative are now benefiting from an enhanced baggage sorting and coding service, designed to facilitate their pilgrimage journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Makkah Route Initiative lounge, established by the Ministry of Interior as part of the Guests of Allah Service Program, is a significant component of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. This service, developed in collaboration with government partners, ensures that pilgrims' luggage is sorted and coded efficiently. The process is supervised by a specialized team from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah within a designated hall at Islamabad International Airport. Luggage is tagged with flight details, the pilgrims' information, and their intended places of residence in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Madinah Al-Munawwarah. This label is also placed on the pilgrim's passport cover, and they receive a card with the same information. T he coding service, offered at the pilgrims' home airport, aims to streamline the journey by eliminating formalities and waiting times upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, ensuring a smooth transition to their residences.
