Riyadh: The baggage coding service under the Makkah Route Initiative helped facilitate the journey of pilgrims from the Republic of C´te d'Ivoire by using advanced technological solutions that ensure luggage is transported directly to their accommodations in the Kingdom without the need to collect it upon arrival. The service, supervised by a specialized team from Saudi Post (SPL), electronically links pilgrims' luggage to their personal data and accommodation locations through an integrated digital system that enables highly accurate baggage tracking.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the process helps accelerate pilgrims' movement through arrival airports, allowing them to proceed directly to buses designated to transport them to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah regions, enhancing pilgrims' comfort and improving operational efficiency. The service is part of a package of smart solutions provided by entities participating in the Makkah Route Initiative, aimed at improving pilgrims' experience from their departure from their home country until they reach their final destination, in line with the highest standards of quality and organization.
The Makkah Route Initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with several government entities to provide integrated services to pilgrims in their home countries, reflecting the Kingdom's efforts to harness technology to serve pilgrims.
