Assistant Culture Minister Participates in 5th Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council Meeting

Assistant Minister of Culture Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tawq participated today in the fifth session of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council in Jeddah on behalf of Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.

Saudi Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi chaired the Saudi side at the meeting, while Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Mohammad Ali Tamim chaired the Iraqi side.

The meeting was held in the attendance of the council members of the two sides and heads of its sub-committees.

The meeting reviewed the achievements and outcome of the council’s work and the joint work plan of the council’s sub-committees in various fields of bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom and Iraq.

The council also discussed ways to support and enhance the bilateral cooperation fields to serve the interests of the two countries and their citizens in various fields.

Established in 2017, the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council aims to enhance communication between the two countries at the strategic level and advance bilateral relations to new horizons in various fields, including the cultural sector.

The council also aims to deepen the mutual cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iraq on international and regional affairs of concern.
