Dhahran: The 2025 Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO), hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Dhahran from May 4 to 12, concluded with the participation of 240 students from 30 countries, under the slogan: "Together We Generate the Energy of the Future."
According to Saudi Press Agency, a total of 169 awards were presented to participating students in APhO. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), with diamond sponsorship from Saudi Aramco.
The awards included 28 gold medals, 37 silver medals, 59 bronze medals, and 45 certificates of appreciation. Hosting this event for the first time in the Middle East reflects the Kingdom's commitment to empowering youth and nurturing scientific talent.
The Kingdom's hosting of APhO builds on its leadership in the energy sector and underscores its ongoing investment in human capital, positioning the Kingdom as a leading international hub for science and innovation.
