Riyadh: Farms across Aseer Region are supplying abundant pomegranate yields to local markets, delivering vital economic returns for farmers and family-run businesses during the peak harvest season. Across the Kingdom, more than 1.3 million fruit-bearing trees produce over 39,700 tons annually, with Aseer serving as a primary production hub. According to Saudi Press Agency, the seasonal influx is driving commercial activity and agritourism, highlighted by the 6th Pomegranate Festival in Sarat Abidah. The event offers direct sales outlets for growers and supports cottage industries producing molasses and juices, backed by technical support from the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases to ensure crop safety and maximize farmer profitability.
