Riyadh: "Art Week Riyadh" marked a significant moment in the Kingdom's cultural evolution, establishing the capital as a dynamic hub for diverse artistic movements.
According to Saudi Press Agency, organized by the Visual Arts Commission, the event features local and international artists across 13 venues, redefining the art-society dialogue and embodying Saudi Arabia's cultural evolution from heritage preserver to modernity innovator. Running until April 13, 2025, the initiative includes art exhibitions, interactive workshops, dialogue sessions, and visual art performances for all ages, appealing to families and art enthusiasts alike. It brings together over 50 galleries, 200 artists, and 100 events to foster cultural exchange and showcase Saudi Arabia's vibrant art scene globally.
The JAX District's main exhibition, "At the Edge," showcases works from 30 local, regional, and international galleries, highlighting the cultural dialogue between Saudi Arabia and the Middle East and North Africa region. Visitors gain insight into Saudi artists' creative processes and can participate in workshops on pottery, narrative drawing, and still life, led by both Saudi and international artists.
Until May 31, 2025, the event will display artworks from leading Saudi collections such as Ithra and the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG). The exhibition "Collections in Dialogue" further features works by international artists, enriching the cultural exchange.
Through the "A World of Silence" sculpture exhibition, the LArt Pur Foundation, chaired by Princess Adwaa bint Yazeed bin Abdullah Al Saud, celebrates the artistic dialogue between the Kingdom and Egypt through the works of eight artists.
Art Week Riyadh exemplifies the Ministry of Culture's efforts to enhance the creative sector, aligning with Vision 2030's recognition of culture and the arts as vital to the national economy and a source of generational inspiration.
