The Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army's (JAF) Southern Military Zone foiled a drone-assisted smuggling attempt early Wednesday along the Kingdom's western border, where a drone was intercepted carrying a payload of illegal narcotics. A JAF official stated that Border Guard forces, in collaboration with military intelligence and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected and neutralized the drone as it attempted to breach Jordanian airspace. Following the enforcement of the established rules of engagement, the drone was brought down within Jordanian territory, and its illicit cargo was confiscated. The seized narcotics were transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation. The JAF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security, stating that it will continue to act decisively against any border threats, particularly attempts to smuggle narcotics aimed at undermining Jordanian society.
