Mogadishu: Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) Abdullah Al-Muhaidli emphasized the critical importance of a project aimed at supporting water and environmental sanitation in displaced camps in Somalia. This initiative is currently being funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and is receiving direct field oversight from the ARCO, represented by the Somali Red Crescent Society.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Muhaidli said that this project addresses an urgent humanitarian need, given the challenges faced by displaced individuals in the camps, including a lack of clean water and inadequate environmental sanitation services. These issues pose significant threats to their health and daily lives. The project aims to improve living conditions, reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics, and uphold the dignity of displaced people by ensuring their access to basic services.
He further noted that this initiative exemplifies the vital role of the KSrelief in supporting both Arab and international humanitarian efforts. This partnership represents a leading model of integration and cooperation in addressing pressing humanitarian issues both within and outside the Arab region.
