General

Riyadh: The Architecture and Design Commission announced the launch of the first edition of the 'Salone del Mobile Milano' exhibition in Riyadh, one of the world's leading events dedicated to design and furniture. The exhibition will be held from November 26 to 28, with the announcement made during the Cultural Investment Forum, organized by the Ministry of Culture under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event serves as a prelude to the larger edition scheduled for 2026, following the strategic partnership signed last January between the commission and Federlegno Arredo Eventi S.p.A., the official owner of the Milan exhibition. The initiative is part of the commission's efforts to boost international partnerships and attract leading global cultural exhibitions to support the growth of the Kingdom's architecture and design sector.

Chief Executive Officer of the Architecture and Design Commission Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman said that hosting the first edition of the exhibition in Riyadh will enhance the Kingdom's global presence in the design and furniture industry. She noted that the event will create new opportunities for collaboration between Saudi and international designers, fostering knowledge exchange and enhancing the Kingdom's position as a hub of creativity and innovation.

The exhibition will feature more than 35 Italian brands while highlighting national initiatives, including the commission's flagship program 'Designed in Saudi,' which supports local industrial designers and showcases the Kingdom as a global design destination.

The cultural program accompanying the exhibition will include workshops and panel discussions organized by the commission with the participation of Saudi and Italian experts and designers. The sessions aim to encourage creative and knowledge exchange and to enrich dialogue on the future of architecture, design, and urban transformation in the Kingdom.

This partnership reflects one of the commission's strategic pillars to position the Kingdom on the global architecture and design map, expand collaboration with leading international institutions, and reinforce its role as a regional and global center for creativity and culture, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
