Manama, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi stated that the 33rd Arab Summit, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is crucial given the current crises and developments in the region, particularly the dire situation in Gaza. Al-Budaiwi expressed gratitude to King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa for Bahrain's efforts in hosting and organizing the summit. The summit took place amid Israeli attacks and violations against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza. Al-Budaiwi called for international intervention to halt these violations and the military escalation in Gaza. Furthermore, he reiterated the unwavering support of the GCC's member states for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital.
