Riyadh: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the Israeli recent decisions regarding the occupied West Bank.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Yamahi described the decisions as a blatant escalation of aggression, a violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, and a transparent attempt to alter the legal and historical status of the Palestinian territories through settlement expansion and the imposition of de facto sovereignty.
In a statement issued today, Al-Yamahi emphasized that the Israeli occupation has no legitimate sovereignty over any part of Palestinian land. He warned that the government's approval of annexation measures constitutes a full-fledged war crime and called for immediate international accountability.
He affirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its political and parliamentary efforts, regionally and internationally, to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and to reject any attempts to legitimize the occupation or impose facts on the ground by force.
