Cairo: President of the Arab Parliament Mohamed AlYammahi reaffirmed that the Palestinian cause remains the primary issue for Arabs. Despite facing numerous challenges, including catastrophes, genocide, and displacement, the Palestinian people continue to show resilience in their steadfast commitment to their land and rights.

According to Saudi Press Agency, AlYammahi, in a statement commemorating the 108th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, described the declaration as one of the most unjust decisions in modern history. He emphasized that it has led to prolonged suffering for Palestinians, enabling policies of displacement and aggression against them and their holy sites.

He acknowledged the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement as a crucial step toward stopping aggression in the Gaza Strip. However, he stressed the importance of following this with immediate reconstruction efforts, insisting on full Palestinian involvement and oversight.

AlYammahi further stressed that any future political strategies concerning Gaza or other Palestinian territories should ensure Palestinians have complete decision-making power over their land. He also called for the unhindered entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip.

Welcoming Britain's recent recognition of the State of Palestine, the president urged other nations, particularly in Europe, to do the same. He advocated for lifting the injustices faced by Palestinians and fully recognizing the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
