Arab Parliament Condemns Israeli Actions Against UN Facilities in Jerusalem

Riyadh: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Al-Yamahi has expressed strong condemnation regarding the recent events involving the Qalandia Training Center. The facility, associated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), was reportedly stormed by the minister of National Security of the Israeli occupation. The Israeli authorities have taken control of the center, evacuated its staff, and begun its demolition, targeting additional UNRWA facilities in Jerusalem.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Yamahi issued a statement highlighting that this escalation represents a clear violation of the immunities provided by the United Nations and an attack on its institutions and resolutions. He urged the international community and the UN Security Council to implement immediate and binding measures to stop these Israeli actions on UN facilities and to hold the accountable parties responsible.

Al-Yamahi further emphasized that the Israeli occupation's attempts to undermine UNRWA will not succeed in resolving the Palestinian refugee issue. He affirmed the commitment of the Arab Parliament to continue defending the agency and its UN mandate, as well as advocating for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. This includes the right of return and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
