Riyadh:The General Secretariat of the Arab League has issued a strong condemnation of the Houthi militia's launch of ballistic missiles targeting various cities and regions across Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the secretariat emphasized that these recurring attacks on Saudi territories represent a severe escalation and pose a direct threat to the Kingdom's security and stability. The Arab League expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed its complete support for all measures taken to defend the country's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
The statement highlighted that the ongoing Houthi escalation is detrimental to opportunities for a political settlement of the Yemeni crisis and hinders efforts to revive the peace process.
Furthermore, the Arab League reiterated its support for regional and international initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive political solution in Yemen. This solution should be based on established terms of reference and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, to ensure the preservation of Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and independence.
