Riyadh: The Arab League The Arab League strongly condemned the drone attack targeting the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions of Saudi Arabia. The drones originated from Iraqi territory, and the attack resulted in injuries and material damage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the league described the attack as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty, a serious threat to its security and stability, and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy stated that targeting infrastructure, oil facilities, and energy transmission pipelines poses a direct threat to energy security and the stability of the regional and global economy. He affirmed the league's categorical rejection of the use of the territory of any Arab country as a launching point for attacks against another Arab country or for actions that undermine its security and stability.
Fahmy affirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate and necessary measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security and national resources, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's decision not to respond at the present time, allowing the Iraqi government an opportunity to take the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks launched from Iraqi territory against neighboring Arab countries, thereby reinforcing the principles of good neighborliness and preserving regional security and stability.
