Riyadh: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and Advisor Turki Alalshikh announced that applications for the 'Ala Khutah' experience have exceeded one million. He stated that the launch of the experience is scheduled for November. Alalshikh expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the project. He emphasized that efforts will continue to meet HRH the Crown Prince's aspirations for the migration route project 'Ala Khutah.'
According to Saudi Press Agency, Alalshikh also thanked Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz for his continued support, as well as Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz for his commitment to the success of this distinctive experience. Alalshikh highlighted the international acclaim of the experience, particularly noting the significant momentum it is gaining in the Republic of Indonesia. He indicated that plans to expand the project will soon include Malaysia, Trkiye, and India, reflecting the essence of the prophetic migration in an immersive and emotionally engaging way.
He added that this year's plan aims to welcome 300,000 visitors, supported by an integrated organizational framework that ensures both the quality of the experience and the safety of attendees. There is an ambitious goal to increase that number to five million visitors each year by 2030. Advisor Turki Alalshikh mentioned that the initiative will provide improved transportation options to ease movement along the migration route. This includes specially equipped four-wheel-drive buses designed for navigating rough terrain, allowing visitors to reach Ghar Thawr in just three minutes-a significant reduction from the previous two-hour trek on foot-thereby enhancing visitor comfort and enriching the overall experience.
