Al-khabra: The auction area at the Al-Khabra and Riyadh Al-Khabra Dates Market is bustling with activity as it receives produce from more than 100,000 date palms spread across over 675 farms both within and outside the governorate. The market is a daily hub for farmers, traders, and shoppers alike.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the market is experiencing increasing marketing activity, with daily auctions featuring more than 50 varieties of dates. Notable among these are Sukkari, Barhi, Shaqra, Ruthana, Halwa, Khalas, Sagai, and Maktoumi, alongside other varieties cultivated on local farms.
Market Executive Director Eng. Fahd Al-Rasheed emphasized that the season offers a crucial marketing opportunity for farmers, facilitating connections between their products and traders and consumers. This organized setting aims to enhance date quality and improve buying and selling efficiency.
Al-Rasheed also underscored the contribution of the National Center for Palms and Dates' seasonal markets platform in advancing date marketing mechanisms. The platform aids in organizing sales operations and enables farmers to showcase their products while leveraging modern technologies.
