Al-baha: Al-Baha University has been selected for the 2025 cohort of the IBM Impact Accelerator program to develop the CH-MARL framework, an advanced AI solution for coordinating transport and port fleets. The project aims to significantly reduce fleet downtime, fuel consumption, and carbon emissions across key logistical hubs, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and its sustainability priorities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, President of Al-Baha University Dr. Abdullah Al-Hussein noted that participation enhances the university's research standing, expands opportunities for student researchers, and makes a tangible impact on the Kingdom's transport and logistics sector.
Dr. Saad Alqithami, the research team's leader, stated that the CH-MARL project leverages AI and cloud computing to transform fleet management and logistics operations, supporting the Kingdom's sustainability agenda. He emphasized that the project's outcomes will enable seamless transitions between simulation and live operations, reducing downtime and fuel consumption while improving air quality in major logistical centers, thus contributing to Vision 2030 and global climate goals.
