Al-Baha Begins Construction of Agricultural City for Almond and Fruit Cultivation

Al-Baha: Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's Al-Baha branch, Fahad Al-Zahrani, presented the contract for the agricultural city project to the Agricultural Production and Marketing Cooperative in Bani Kabir on Monday. The project is focused on the cultivation of almond and fruit trees and spans an area of 596,084.47 square meters.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the handover is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agricultural development and support agricultural cooperative associations throughout the Kingdom. This initiative aims to contribute to food security and foster growth in the local agricultural sector. Al-Zahrani emphasized that the project is a promising initiative to leverage Al-Baha Region's environmental and natural resources. He noted that the cultivation of almond and fruit trees aligns with the region's characteristics and offers additional economic value.

Al-Zahrani further stated that the branch is committed to empowering agricultural cooperative associations by providing a supportive environment for their success. He expressed hope that this project would serve as a model for sustainable agricultural investment. The project is anticipated to create job opportunities, improve the quality of local agricultural products, and generate economic returns that will benefit the region's residents.
