Al-ahsa: The Al-Ahsa Municipality issued the first building permit for a residential project yesterday in accordance with the requirements of the Saudi Building Code. This marks a significant step towards enhancing the urban identity of the Al-Ahsa Oasis and promoting cultural and urban heritage in the Kingdom’s cities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Ahsa Mayor Eng. Essam Al-Mulla stated that implementing these building requirements for residential buildings represents a pivotal stage in urban development. It contributes to reshaping the landscape with elements of national identity and focuses on enhancing the quality of life in sustainable residential environments.
The design guidelines consist of policies and standards to direct the architectural design and construction process, reflecting the spirit of local Saudi architecture while integrating historical character with contemporary development.
Eng. Al-Mulla emphasized that Saudi architecture goes beyond aesthetics by adapting to climate conditions, promoting sustainability, and designing residential spaces better suited to the needs of Saudi families.
