Egypt’s Al Ahly defeated Sudan’s Al Merreikh SC 3-0 in the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Red Devils opened the scoring with a well-taken goal from their attacking midfielder Mohamed Magdy, known by his nickname “Afsha” in the 57th minute of the match.
Al Ahly’s striker Mahmoud Abdel Moneim, commonly known as “Kahraba,” gave Al Ahly a 2-0 lead, after netting the second goal in the 63rd minute.
Forward Walter Bwalya sealed the victory for Al Ahly with the third goal in the 70th minute.
The two teams have been drawn in Group A alongside Simba of Tanzania and AS Vita Club of Congo.
