Agricultural Development Fund CEO Affirms Commitment to Investing in Sustainable Water Resources

Jeddah: CEO of the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) Munir Al-Sahli participated in a panel discussion during Saudi Water Week, currently taking place in Jeddah. The session highlighted the fund's efforts to promote water sustainability and improve the efficient use of natural resources across the agricultural sector.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Sahli stated that the ADF encourages agricultural projects to adopt modern technologies to optimize water and energy use while improving irrigation efficiency. He noted that financing provided through the Modern Agricultural Technologies (AgriTech) program has reached approximately SAR8.7 billion since its launch in 2018 and is projected to continue through 2025. This financing accounts for around 30% of the fund's total funding, which amounts to approximately SAR29 billion.

Al-Sahli reaffirmed the fund's commitment to building strategic partnerships with government entities, the private sector, and research institutions to advance the adoption of best practices in modern agriculture. These partnerships are seen as crucial for driving innovation and sustainability within the sector, ensuring that resources are used effectively and responsibly.
