Kabul: Afghan Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi met with Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary-General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, along with his accompanying delegation, at the Chahar Chinar Palace within the prime minister's complex in Kabul, in the presence of senior Afghan scholars.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting witnessed an extensive discussion during which the pivotal role of the MWL was highlighted, along with the great confidence it inspires. It was affirmed that the MWL represents the conscience, hopes, and concerns of Muslim peoples, and under its umbrella brings together scholars of the Islamic ummah from various schools of thought, serving as a unifying and inclusive institution for all.
The meeting also highlighted the two historic documents issued by the MWL from Makkah: the 'Charter of Makkah,' signed by 1,200 muftis and scholars, and the 'Charter of Building Bridges between Islamic. Schools of Thought and Sects,' signed by senior scholars of the Ummah from various Islamic sects and denominations.
