AFC Confirms May 9 for AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Final Draw

Riyadh: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced today that the final draw of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 will be held on May 9 in Riyadh at the historic At-Turaif District in Diriyah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the draw was initially scheduled for April 11 but was postponed to ensure the participation of all concerned parties, national associations, and partners. The move reflects the confederation’s and the local organizing committee’s commitment to delivering a ceremony befitting the tournament.

A total of 23 teams have qualified out of 24 for the finals. The draw will divide teams into six groups of four, setting the stage for the competition. Saudi Arabia will host the tournament for the first time from January 7 to February 5, 2027. The final spot will be decided on June 4 in a playoff between Lebanon and Yemen to determine the last qualifier.

The AFC expressed appreciation to the local organizing committee and the Asian football community for their cooperation. Details of the ceremony’s start time will be announced later through official channels.
