Davao oriental: A strong earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck the town of Manay in Davao Oriental province, southern Philippines, on Friday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the tremor shook the same region recently hit by a devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake. That earlier disaster resulted in five deaths, triggered landslides, and caused widespread damage to buildings.
Authorities are currently assessing the impact of this latest quake.
