Al-baha: Public walking facilities in Al-Baha Region witnessed a remarkable turnout during the holy month of Ramadan as fasting individuals flocked to practice walking before Iftar and after Taraweeh prayers, in a spiritual Ramadan atmosphere and within a safe, well-prepared environment accommodating all segments of society.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this turnout is an extension of the efforts exerted by Al-Baha Municipality in implementing integrated development projects for walking paths in Al-Baha City, its governorates, and affiliated centers. A total of 43 walking tracks have been constructed, with lengths exceeding 53,000 linear meters, distributed across key locations, thereby providing multiple options for physical activity near residential neighborhoods and public facilities.
The development works included supportive amenities for the comfort and safety of visitors, such as modern lighting poles, seating areas, planting basins, parking lots, and public facilities, enhancing accessibility and catering to the needs of various groups. Mayor of Al-Baha Region Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Sawat indicated that these facilities have become a main destination for families, youth, and the elderly during Ramadan, affirming the municipality's keenness to prepare these sites in accordance with safety and quality standards, while intensifying maintenance, cleaning, and field monitoring to ensure their accessibility throughout the holy month.
Walking is considered one of the suitable physical activities during Ramadan, as it stimulates blood circulation, improves digestion after Iftar, and enhances mental health and reduces stress.
