2 injured as fire breaks out in Carrefour in northern Egypt’s Alexandria

Two people were injured after a fire broke out in Carrefour branch in northern Egypt’s Alexandria, Governor of Alexandria Mohamed El-Sherif said.

Civil protection units managed to bring the fire, which broke out in the play area of the mall beside the food court, the governor noted.

One of the injured broke his leg while running from the fire, the governor said, while the other, one of the civil protection elements, suffered from suffocation. No deaths have been reported, the governor affirmed.

The Ministry of Interior said the fire started at an air conditioner on the roof of the mall, noting that the fire was brought under control without any loss of life or an impact on the building of the mall.
