19th anniversary of Aghdam’s occupation commemorated in Baku

Baku: Rashad Suleymanov ;The 19th anniversary of Aghdam region’s occupation has been commemorated in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku today.

APA reports that Aghdam region’s society, members of several foreign organizations functioning in Azerbaijan visited the Alley of Martyrs on this occasion. About 3,000 people attended the event.

Members of Aghdam Region Executive Power, law-enforcement bodies, members of parliament from Aghdam, leadership of Public Union “Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh” attended the event. The event participants visited the grave of martyrs and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame.

Head of Aghdam Region Executive Power Nizami Sadigov told journalists that 17 new settlements were constructed in the region’s areas released from occupation and more than 40,000 people were settled here. 90,000 people live in non-occupied areas of Aghdam.

Head of the executive power commented on the recent exercises held in Aghdam’s occupied territories by Armenian armed forces: “Armenians take such efforts every time the high-level guests from the international organizations arrive in the region. The recent developments are their next provocation in the contact line.

The event was finished with the visit of graves from Aghdam buried in the Alley of Martyrs.
