Sana'a: Seventeen Yemeni political parties and components praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm stance on the southern issue in the country, describing it as a just issue with historical and social dimensions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the parties welcomed a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement called for restoring stability in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra.
The Yemeni parties emphasized that stability would be achieved by redeploying the Southern Transitional Council's forces to their previous barracks outside the two governorates. They also called for the forces' urgent withdrawal under organized procedures and under the supervision of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy.
In a joint statement carried by the Yemen News Agency (SABA), the parties remarked that this position 'represents the essence of the required approach at this stage.' They described it as the correct entry point to contain the escalation and prevent the imposition of any new facts on the ground by force.
The statement reiterated the parties' support for the Presidential Leadership Council's efforts to contain the situation. It urged the Southern Transitional Council to respond urgently and to prioritize reason and wisdom.
