Riyadh: The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases, known as the Weqaa Center, has announced the implementation of new regulations in collaboration with the Veterinary Poultry Council to oversee the transportation of live poultry across Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, these regulations, set to take effect on January 1, 2025, aim to streamline the movement of live poultry, chicks, and hatching eggs between various operational areas within the Kingdom. The primary goal is to ensure a smooth flow of poultry and poultry-related products under normal circumstances while enforcing tighter controls during disease outbreaks.
The introduction of these regulations is expected to bolster biosecurity measures significantly, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth and advancement of the poultry industry throughout Saudi Arabia.
