RIYADH: The sixth edition of the Supply Chain Conference, sponsored by Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser, is scheduled to take place in Riyadh on December 15. The event seeks to forge new partnerships across various sectors and generate innovative ideas that align with Saudi Vision 2030, while also promoting sustainable development.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference will gather ministers, supply chain decision-makers, and leaders from both international and local companies. It will emphasize the importance of collaboration among companies and stakeholders to adopt advanced technologies in supply chains, bolster e-commerce, stimulate the digital economy, and utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance sector services.
The conference occurs as Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in improving global supply chain efficiency through its strong logistical infrastructure. This includes a network of international and regional airports, world-class ports known for operationa
l efficiency and maritime connectivity, and advanced rail and road systems that ensure the smooth movement of people and goods. By aligning its logistical capabilities with global standards, Saudi Arabia has positioned itself as a crucial strategic hub in worldwide supply chains.
Recently, the Kingdom advanced 17 places in the World Bank’s logistics performance index. Attracted by strategic location and economic potential, major international logistics companies have invested in Saudi ports, further enhancing the Kingdom’s logistics sector and supply chain efficiency.
The conference will also feature an exhibition highlighting the supply chain and logistics sector, with insights from international experts on best practices and innovative methods to improve supply chain performance. Dialogue sessions, workshops, and a platform to empower Saudi women in the supply chain sector will be part of the event.
