RCRC Launches Household Demographic Survey of Riyadh Residents

Riyadh: The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), in partnership with the General Authority for Statistics, has launched the Household Demographic Survey of Riyadh’s residents. The initiative is a response to the city’s ongoing population growth and comprehensive development in various sectors. The RCRC is dedicated to continuously monitoring and updating demographic and urban indicators through detailed population studies and surveys.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the survey aims to monitor and analyze the demographic status of Riyadh’s residents by identifying their social, educational, and economic characteristics, as well as housing conditions, migration patterns, and internal mobility. It seeks to provide a clear understanding of the city’s current demographic profile based on approved statistical methodologies.

The project is being implemented in multiple phases, beginning with field data collection and analysis using advanced digital tools and technologies and concluding with the development of
demographic indicators that support sustainable urban planning, enhance public services, and improve residents’ quality of life. The survey covers all 217 neighborhoods within the city’s development protection boundaries, spanning an area of 5,960 square kilometers.

The initiative is part of the RCRC’s ongoing efforts to provide up-to-date population data that supports the formulation of effective urban plans and policies, enables accurate monitoring and analysis of the city’s dynamics, and helps anticipate future trends, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
