RIYADH: The King Abdullah International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance peace efforts in Southeast Asia. The agreement, finalized virtually, aims to foster dialogue and mutual understanding among diverse religious and cultural groups across ASEAN member states.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU was signed by KAICIID Secretary General Dr. Zuhair Alharthi and ASEAN-IPR Executive Director Ambassador Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja. The initiative is designed to align with KAICIID’s mission of forming strategic partnerships worldwide to promote harmony through dialogue.
Dr. Alharthi emphasized that the collaboration will focus on strengthening tolerance and coexistence, which they believe are essential for sustainable development in the region. By encouraging open communication between different communities, the initiative seeks to create a more harmonious Sou
