Hariri: You will witness return of Saudi tourists and investments
Prime Minister Saad Hariri received today at the Grand Serail the Press federation board, headed by Aouni al Kaaki.
After the meeting, Kaaki said: "We came to congratulate his Excellency on the New Year and on the formation of the new government and to praise the bold and historic decision he took to save Lebanon from the presidential vacancy, which led to the election of a President made in Lebanon. We noted many accomplishments already that give us hope for the birth of a new era in Lebanon.
His Excellency praised the interview of President Michel Aoun yesterday to the Saudi Arabia news channel and said that he is in a full understanding with the President on all the things, based on two points: first, any political division is forbidden, and second, all things important for the citizens must be quickly accomplished through the government and this is our duty.
The Prime minister said that this cooperation is also shown by the Speaker Nabih Berri and all political forces represented in the government.
Prime Minister Hariri praised the efforts of the security forces and the Lebanese army in fighting terrorism. He said that there are many proposals for the electoral law, but we are working to agree on one draft law to send to the parliament. We are committed to hold the parliamentary elections on time, but our biggest commitment is to reach a new electoral law.
Concerning president Aoun's visit to Saudi Arabia, he said: The most important is the meeting between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the President. You will witness a big openness in the relations, the return of Saudi tourists and investments to Lebanon and all that contributes to the economic advancement.
Hariri sent a message to the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi offering his condolences for the death of Egyptian soldiers during the terrorist attack in the city of El Arish.
