Hail Region: A Significant Part of Kingdom’s Mineral Wealth.

Hail: The Hail region boasts a wealth of valuable mineral resources worth over SAR 72.3 billion, making up a significant part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s mineral wealth. The government is exploring and utilizing these resources to boost the economy, diversify revenue sources, and achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to make mining the third pillar of the Saudi industry.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources Spokesperson Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah highlighted the abundance of high-quality mineral ores in the Hail region, especially gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, and bauxite. Al-Jarrah stated that the region’s bauxite is valued at SAR50.466 billion, gold at approximately SAR14.126 billion, zinc at SAR3.465 billion, copper at SAR2.872 billion, silver at SAR1 billion, and lead at SAR15 million.

He also noted that the Hail region contains mineral belts for gold and sulfide, along with three reserves of rare earth elements, minerals, and industri
al raw materials such as silica sand and white sand. Moreover, the region is home to 16 mining sand, silica sand, granite, basalt, and magnesite complexes.

Regarding the industrial sector development in the Hail region, Al-Jarrah said: “The region hosts a diverse and expansive industrial base, with 154 operational and under-construction factories. Hail city and the governorates of Ash Shinan and Al Khuttah house about 95% of these industrial facilities.” He also highlighted other prominent industrial sectors in Hail, such as food products, construction materials, chemicals, and machinery and equipment.
