Environment Minister Opens Saudi Agricultural Exhibition 2025, Oversees SAR3.5 Billion in Investments


Riyadh: Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley launched the 42nd Saudi Agriculture Exhibition, a four-day event held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.



According to Saudi Press Agency, Chairman of the Riyadh Exhibitions Company Prince Saud bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz emphasized that the Saudi Agricultural Exhibition serves as an important platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among all stakeholders in agriculture. He highlighted the event’s focus on the latest technologies and innovations designed to boost agricultural output and enhance food systems. He also noted that growing climate and environmental challenges require a collective and innovative effort to create sustainable solutions that protect resources and promote sustainable development.



Following the inauguration, Minister Alfadley toured the exhibition, which showcases a wide range of agricultural sectors, including plant production, organic farming, livestock (poultry and dairy), food processing and packaging, and aquaculture.



Alfadley witnessed the signing of 28 agreements and memoranda of understanding, securing over SAR3.5 billion in investments. The deals involved collaboration between government entities, key private sector partners, and international agricultural firms, forming partnerships essential to strengthening the food and agriculture sector and driving economic growth. The minister also inaugurated a new Agricultural Innovation Center.



Focused on food security and sustainability, the Saudi Agricultural Exhibition supports national economic priorities by showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in farming and food production. The event reflects the sector’s expanding role in driving economic growth, with its contribution to GDP reaching SAR119 billion in 2024 and projected to rise to approximately SAR140 billion by 2030.



Several major events will also take place alongside the exhibition, including the International Agriculture Future Summit, the 13th International Food Processing and Packaging Exhibition, the 7th International Aquaculture Exhibition, and the 30th International Food Products and Technologies Exhibition. The exhibition has attracted over 446 participants from 34 countries displaying cutting-edge technologies in plant, animal, and fish production. This global participation demonstrates the significant growth of the Saudi agricultural sector and its success in achieving greater food security and self-sufficiency, promoting sustainable food production in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
